This isn't fully ready, but I want to baseline what I've got into Git. As per my usual tactic, this code is largely derived from what Rust does -- in this case, Rustup more specifically.

Copying a lot of work from Rustup, we now lead with the drop-in copy/paste instructions. The Book hasn't yet been updated to match, though!
