This error from libvirt indicates that the VM type that vagrant-libvirt wants to create is not supported by the host. You must ensure that your QEMU installation is correct when you get domaintype=qemu, and that your hardware supports Intel VT-x or AMD SVM (check CPU capabilities and BIOS settings) when you get domaintype=kvm.
The invalid argument: could not find capabilities for domaintype=kvm is seen if the CPU does not support virtualization and/or the kvm kernel module is not loaded.
Here are the commands that can be used to check if the CPU supports virtualization and if the kvm kernel module is loaded:

Also make sure to restart system after initial package installation on the host.
