Hi Everyone,

i have a short question: Is it allowed to use winpython in a business environment? Not to use it in a commercial products, but to use it during our Projects / in the Lab. I couldnt find any information except "WinPython is a free open-source portable distribution of the Python programming language for Windows 8/10 and scientific and educational usage."

Anaconda for example specifically does not allow the usage in a commercial environment.

Winpython itself is MIT licence.
In big versions you have for example some Qt wheels, with gpl licences.

So I think you have no issue using it in any shape and form, but need to care if you want to sell a product which contains some gpl wheels

Goal of WinPython is to help expand the use, flight domain, and innovation of Python free public ecosystem.

The more possible users of Python, everywhere on earth, on any subtype or distribution, the better it is for peace and progress.
