Backend engineer focused on distributed systems and infrastructure. I like making complex systems reliable and operations as uneventful as possible.
What I work with:
- Go — primary language, most of my tooling and services are written here
- Python — scripting, data wrangling, occasional automation glue
- Shell — because sometimes that's just the right tool
- Kubernetes, Terraform, and whatever else the infra stack demands
Currently:
- Building out internal platform tooling at work
- Slowly working through a side project around distributed job scheduling
- Learning more about consensus algorithms (Raft in particular)
A few things I believe:
- Boring infrastructure is good infrastructure
- Observability is not optional
- A well-written runbook is worth more than most dashboards
