The main page of this repository shows a "Deployments" section on the right side:
Screenshot deployment section

Since, if I understand it correctly, you are not actually using GitHub pages for deployment at the moment, maybe it would be good to omit that section to avoid confusion.
This can be done by clicking the gear icon (⚙️) at the top right.

It's already turned off for me

Weird, not sure if it is a caching issue for me then.

When you checked this, were you logged in on GitHub? It looks to me as if the "Deployments" section is not shown at all when you are not logged in. Not only for lz4-java but for all projects.

It looks fine both logged in and logged out for me

Hmm, pretty weird. I even tried a different browser where I cleared all browser data, used an Incognito window and freshly logged in ... and this "Deployments" section still shows up on the main page of this repository.
Maybe there is some kind of bug then with GitHub's UI. Either way, since it seems to only appear when logged in it will probably not confuse that many (or any) users.

I tried turning it on and off again, is it better now?

No (again not even in a separate Incognito browser session), but thanks for trying nonetheless!
