My name is Lucy. I live in a workman’s cottage in Battersea, London with my two dogs, Leo and Bella. Until 2023, I practiced as a family law barrister. I burned out, picked up a trowel, and never looked back. I am a committed amateur gardener, as well as a wildly enthusiastic writer and photographer. In April 2025 I started renting Daisy Barn, a little barn conversion in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. At DB I am starting a garden from scratch, with just my own two hands, and with more gusto than money, as well as learning the ropes of the country life as a born-and-raised Londoner.
Here you will find posts on any number of topics from my current planting plans, to films to cheer up a winter’s afternoon. You’ll find collages, photographs, and doodles. There will be musings on life and death, the right ratio of dogs to humans, and many, many garden visits.
You will also find my full list of garden suppliers - nurseries large and small, local suppliers, specialist growers, and fabulous places to buy your sundries. I don’t get any kick backs for this, I just think it’s nice to share.
