The Inside Edge

THE INSIDE EDGE was launched on Thursday 1st May 2025 – to provide news, opinion, interviews and features covering Scottish cricket at all levels via twice-weekly emails sent straight to our subscribers’ in-boxes (with bonus updates for any big stories which require immediate attention).

From the team behind The Offside Line rugby news website, the goal is to replicate the same level of balanced, insightful and in-depth reporting to the Scottish cricket community.

During the cricket season (May-September 2025) we provided a minimum of two weekly posts for our subscribers as well as some free articles for all our registered followers. Our Thursday coverage was led by the respected and experienced sportswriter Graeme Macpherson who has written extensively about cricket for various national news and sports outlets during his 25-year career in journalism.

Meanwhile, Gary Heatly provided a Monday round-up of each weekend’s Scottish cricket action, with match scores and reaction from the players and coaches who have been at the heart of the action.

David Barnes – founder of The Offside Line – contributed as a guest reporter, as well as overseeing the editorial direction of The Inside Edge.
