Welcome to the 12th official Wierd Game Jam!

What is the Wierd Game Jam?

This jam is all about making the strangest, most unconventional games you can imagine. You have from 27th April 2026 at 00:00 EST to 1st May 2026 at 00:00 EST to submit your wonderfully wierd creation, and then everyone will have 7 days to rate the games!

Why Join?

Game jams are a fantastic way to challenge yourself, meet other devs, and talk about your games and their progress. By the end, you’ll have created and finished a wierd game that you can share with friends and fellow developers.

Theme

The theme for this wierd game jam will be revealed in this video on 27th of April on 00:00 EST, stay tuned!

Rules

Wierdness is Key: Your game must embrace the wierd and unconventional. The wierder, the better!

Team Up: Teaming up is allowed and encouraged. Create a masterpiece with your friends! No limit on how big you want your team to be!

Content Guidelines: Games must be free of NSFW, offensive, or discriminatory content. We want everyone to enjoy the wierdness or your game!

Assets: All assets must be created during the jam. AI-generated content is not allowed. Team up with a living breathing creature if you need assistance.

Game Updates: Game files can be updated for major issues after submission, but the initial submission must be on time.

The Theme: There is a very wierd theme that will be revealed at the start of the jam. Use it to add an extra twist to your wierd game!

Be loyal: If you want to submit your game to multiple game jams, make sure there is atleast a little bit of the theme present, otherwise it will be disqualified! (This does not apply to the extended and the original wierd jams, you can upload your game on both easily)

Prize

The best game will earn its creator(s) the prestigious title of "Wierdest Guy" in our Discord server. It’s the ultimate badge of honor in the realm of weirdness!

Rating Criteria

After everyone had time to upload their wierd creation, you'll have time to rate other games. Your game needs a minimum number of ratings to be eligible to win, so play lots of games and encourage others to do the same! The criteria for ratings are:

Wierdness: How unique, interesting, or unusual is the game? Does it push the boundaries of conventional game design?

Originality: Is your game unique compared to the others?

The Theme Fitness: Does the game incorporate the announced theme well? Is it particularly original or inventive?

Music/Graphics: How does the game look and sound?

Gameplay: How fun and unique is the gameplay?
