I have been genuinely wondering, is an anarcho-tyranny like the UK that much better than a honest dictatorship like North Korea and China? In the latter they at least have no pretense about being authoritarian and they can actually deal with crime, thought I might be wrong. As Solzhenitsyn said, authoritarian regimes like the USSR always punished dissidents harder than petty criminals.

That would actually require things getting better for ordinary people which I simply do not see happening without a drastic societal change or a very painful transition. Basically everyone except the richest technocrats and politicians is objectively worse off now than 5 years ago. And as I said before I don't see any serious change happening until most boomers die as they will not willingly give up their power and will hold into it until their death.

The combination of Covid years, decline of general trust in people and institutions, rising cost of living, multiple large scale wars and Trump's embarrassing second term has pretty much completely killed many people's optimism and hope for the future. And I don't see anything that could possibly bring it back.
In the past people had religion that gave them hope but now that it has declined there doesn't seem to be any real alternative.

Also regarding your previous post I don't know where the hell you got the idea that there is somehow less ideological infighting on the right, I even saw a research showing there is more diversity of thought on the right than the left. Right wingers fight each other all the time which is why they can't get anything done while the left stays fairly united despite their constant purity testing. Right now there is a lot of conflict between the Zionist/Ben Shapiro types and third worldist/Tucker Carlson types.

Right-wingers are starting to realise that they are not gonna vote their way out of the current situation.
Pretty much every person and party they have supported has turned out to be controlled opposition. Look at Nigel Farage who is backing out of his promises before even getting elected. I don't know how anyone still trusts that opportunist who always ended up backstabbing his people.
