Manish Venumuddula
Hi! Welcome to my personal website! My name is Manish Venumuddula, and I’m a software engineer specializing in earth science. I have a passion for coding and a deep interest in building light data access & analysis pipelines.
Professional Background
I have extensive experience in developing software solutions to help run earth science models. My work involves integrating all kinds of data into statistical hydrologic models that help us understand environmental dynamics, as well as developing helper tools & visualizations for data analysis and publication.
Interests
- Coding: I enjoy exploring new programming languages and frameworks, and I love building tools that make data analysis more efficient.
- Earth Science: From hydrology to climate change, I am fascinated by anything that makes a difference.
- Data Visualization: I believe in the power of good plots!
Projects
Here are some of the projects I’ve worked on:
Differentiating diversions and drought to understand drivers of water loss from a north american terminal lake: A research project aimed at reconstructing a high-altitude lakes water balance on a high-altitude lake to better improving our understanding of the impacts of climate and water diversions, with an eye toward prediction of future lake water levels.
- Global Lake Hydrology Explorer: A (in-development) tool for visualizing lake data worldwide using global precipitation, evaporation, and runoff data.
- Combining Satellite, Teleconnection, and In Situ Data: A research project aimed at improving our understanding of multi-decadal coastal ice cover dynamics on Earth’s largest freshwater lake.
