Keep up to date with all of what I doing, some of which is below.

Journalist

I have been a Westminster-based political journalist since 2005, when politics was boring, and it has gradually got madder as I worked my way through the Press Association, Western Morning News, Independent on Sunday, MailOnline, The Times, Times Radio and now the BBC.

Radio presenter

Today you can find my on BBC Radio 5 Live each weekday live from Westminster from 2pm, each Monday on the Americast podcast, each Friday on BBC Two’s Newsnight, and occasionally on things like ITV’s Lorraine and BBC One’s Have I Got News For You, when they can’t find anyone better.

Comedian

A sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2005 with the sketch group Big Day Out (**** The Scotsman) led to a small 14-year break from comedy before my debut stand-up This. Is. Not. Normal. in 2019, during which somebody called an election. My second tour, Who Is In Charge Here?, only had to deal with a war and the collapse of the government. My third tour, Poll Dancer, ended just before someone else called a snap election. In 2025 I have been touring Making A Meal Of It.
