Welcome to Nope, That’s Not Normal

We created Nope, That's Not Normal to fill a gap between “I have an eating disorder” and “something isn’t quite right.”

Because there are A LOT of folks floating in that in-between.

Join us as we heal through the in-between and make our way back toward happiness, joy, and a wildly fulfilling life!

As a subscriber (free or paid!), you’ll get…

  • Honest conversations

  • No BS insights

  • Lots of compassion

And most importantly, a regular reminder that you can choose another way. You don’t need to shrink. Not your body, your joy, or your worth.

That may be normalized, but here we say NOPE, That’s Not Normal!

If you’re ready to unlearn, re-learn, heal, and reclaim YOU, you’ve come to the right place.

What to Expect From Us

We host a podcast and publish one article each week. When in-season, we publish 2 podcast episodes weekly, often with an article in the mix too!

This means some weeks you’ll get one article, some weeks you’ll get two, others you’ll get two podcast episodes, or even two episodes and an article.

In between seasons, we often run what we call a mini-series, where we tackle specific challenges within disordered eating and body image that we feel need more focus and attention.

Listen to Season 1, Season 2, and Season 3 here or on your streaming platform of choice.

What Free Subscribers Will Get

It’s important to us that free subscribers still get loads of value. As such, this subscription tier will include:

  • First Article of Every Month: One full-length article to kick off each month, delivered straight to your inbox.

  • Mid-Month Link Round-Up: Curated with intention, these are the articles, podcasts, essays, and more that we can’t stop thinking about.

  • Guest Interviews (In-Season): Conversations with people who are challenging norms and reimagining what’s possible.

You’ll always have access to meaningful content that sparks thought and invites reflection. But if you’re craving more? We got you.

What Paid Subscribers Get

The paid tier provides even more resources to support your healing journey. Here’s what you’ll unlock for $5/month or $50/year:

  • All Articles Every Month (usually 4–5 total): You’ll get every deep dive, hot take, and essay we publish.

  • Bonus Episodes (When the podcast is in-season): We’ll drop a juicy bonus episode each week on top of our regular guest interviews. The formats for these shift and change with each season, but one thing that never changes: they are ALWAYS value-packed. (Of course, that’s the only way we do it around here.)

  • Exclusive Mini-Series (1-2 per year, between podcast seasons): These allow paid subscribers to deep-dive into specific food and body topics that we want to dedicate more time to.

  • Everything in the Free Tier, of course.

P.S. Here’s a little note from our Founder on why we chose to monetize the way we did and when we did. (Hint: we did it with great intention.)

Who Are We?

“We” is actually one person, Jessica Thiefels—and, of course, everyone who shares their insights, stories, and strategies with us through articles and podcast interviews. Like Christy Harrison, Chrissy King, Kelsey Ellis, and so many more.

Jessica is the founder and CEO of Echeveria Organic, host and founder of Nope, That’s Not Normal, and a published author. After starting her own disordered eating and trauma-healing journey, and spending more than 13 years working in content marketing, she shifted her focus to helping mental health and eating disorder recovery organizations amplify their message with authentic and intentional content marketing. She’s always looking for ways to expand her impact, help people feel seen, and share her story.
