I’m Océane, a writer, illustrator, and pattern designer. Alongside a full-time job and raising two children, I’m building a life around everyday creativity and helping others do the same.
The Curious Magpie is a space for gently rediscovering your creativity. It’s designed for curious souls, often working parents or people juggling busy live who long to make space for creative expression, reflection, and joy.
Through writing, drawing prompts, and community moments, I help people rediscover the creative spark that’s already inside them. I believe creativity is a lifelong practice, not a talent, test, or competition and that everyone deserves to feel invited.
Here, we don’t chase perfection. We follow what sparks curiosity.

Why I Started This:
After years of creating in the margins: early mornings, weekends, lunch break etc. I wanted to build a space that made creativity feel doable again. Not another to-do list, but a refuge. A spark. A slow unfolding.
I won’t teach you how to draw, paint or design patterns. There are amazing teachers for that. What I offer instead is a space to reconnect with the why of creativity, to spark reflection, gather inspiration, and keep going, even when it’s messy.
This is for the ones who doodle in the margins, love stories, or dream of having a little creative space of their own.
A Little About Me:
I’m French, London-based, and usually fuelled by matcha.
I’m a stationery addict and collage enthusiast.
I’ve studied English Lit, Publishing, and Screenwriting.
I believe creativity lives in everyone. It’s not just for ‘artists’.
I’ve written poems, plays, blog posts, screenplays, children’s stories most of which stayed hidden out of fear. Now, I’m slowly inviting my multi-passions into the light.
In my illustrations I explore patterns, textures and shape-driven design. I love drawing, collage, and the quiet delight of choosing wax pastel colours. I live in South East London with my family and lots of plants.
