About

Hi, I’m Rhianna, often affectionately known as Rhirhi.

I long for one hollow leg to eat more, but I also want extra room for all my overthinking. Taipei is currently my home. This is a space for musings about my past and present experiences. A move to Vietnam in 2022 (from Canada) was the catalyst for starting to write personally again. This is not a newsletter about Taiwan or Asia, but there is content about my life here — eating, observing, working, struggling — and how I use it to dig deeper into myself and my feelings. Food is a passion, and so it appears a lot.

As of January 2026, the newsletter is on hiatus.

Why subscribe?

Because you know me from my Instagram food adventures @onehollowleg and enjoyed my captions as much as my photos. Or maybe you read my previous onehollowleg wordpress blog and like my writing. Or maybe you know that I like to write to avoid the cost of therapy. Maybe my thinking will resonate with your own. I hope so.

Paid subscriptions [currently disabled] are USD $5 per month or USD $40 for one year. Posts for paid subscribers are much more personal in subject matter and are for readers who want to understand me on a deeper level. The balance is that, in addition to having access to my full archive, paid subscribers always have access to my recommended list of restaurants for Taipei and receive regular updates about it. I compiled a list for Saigon when I lived there.
