Did you know that if an assailant is pretty close to you already or the wind is blowing at you, the pepper spray may leave you just as bad off as an attacker, or that pepper spray won’t make a person drop a knife?
Hitting someone with pepper spray is fairly likely to stop an attack. Hitting someone with bullets will stop an attack.

I know exactly when to switch (November 2026), how to do it, and what to do. I’m not going to screw with dual booting for no reason for only a year, won’t use win 10 after it stops getting security updates, and won’t go to windows 11. In November I’ll switch to a Linux distro and be done with the setup within the day. Whatever distro at the time seems best suited for having as a gaming PC.
I don’t know how much of it is ai bots or propaganda or what, but most sources I have been able to track down have mostly celebrating Venezuelans. I know the country has not been a good place to live in over the past decade. US corporate is going to essentially own and swallow up the resources from there, but it won’t surprise me if the general population there has it easier for a while. See what kind of kangaroo government gets put in place down there and for how long the US is going to keep their governing thumb over the country.

Meh. Like I said, it’s pretty much just a gaming PC. I also have a steam deck, my laptop is running Mint, and like 15 years ago I ran Linux Ubuntu. It isn’t that I need to get familiar. It’s that I just don’t want to mess around with swapping an OS again and again. All my games are running on windows and I play a couple games that aren’t compatible on Linux every so often, so I’m not in a hurry to change.

US is far to spread out, and not enough people will care because Mudaro wasn’t a very good guy and that’s about as far as nearly half the US will look.
Countries with nukes and power will eat all other countries, up to the point that one of the countries with nukes is confident that they can attack another country with nukes while preventing a retaliatory strike to happen. Shit will probably slide sideways when that decision happens.
I’m riding out windows 10 to the end of 2026 when security updates stop. My plan is to switch to the hopefully released Steam OS for desktop Linux. Already have amd cpu and GPU for Linux compatibility.
That’s for my gaming desktop computer. I already run Linux Mint on my laptop. My desktop is pretty much just for gaming.

This is dependent on if you’re giving them a reason to. If you’re 15 and are acting drunk or high or suspected of doing shit online or building bombs or stealing, etc expect less privacy.
If there’s no reason to think anything like that, expect more privacy. Every kid\teenager thinks they should just have complete privacy. Most parents know that can be a terrible idea. Very few things in life are simply black or white. Most things are somewhere in a shade of grey.
