I 100% agree with you but I have a hard time convincing my team of that. And so we have a mess of a codebase… It’s not directly important to business, so it is secondary. And obviously nobody notices when fixing bugs take way longer or implementing new features introduces more new bugs than necessary, as it always has been like that. 🤷‍♂️

My only problem with vsauce is that they post only once every 2 years now. But when a new video drops I still like it a lot.

To work around that, just need to book a connection where the last train only goes once an hour (or every 30 minutes or something) with a connecting time of like 10 minutes. Then you can claim a refund even if the original train is delayed for less than one hour. Remember: The relevant part is the total delay at the destination, not delays of individual trains.

At this point I’m literally surprised when my train arrives in time. Recently I took one and even the train personnel went like “We will arrive 1 minute early, no idea how that happened”. At least it means you can almost always calculate with some partial refund😂

Or put another way: While there are bad things coming from the EU, there are actually often also pretty good things coming from it. It’s all relative of course, but I also can’t see another place where I would rather live.

Looking at the polls anything leftish seems highly unlikely to me (at least right now). Die Linke is doing well relative to their own results from the past, but in absolute terms they poll still only slightly above 10% and the other parties that could be part of a progressive coalition are not doing much better.

That being said, the next election is scheduled to be in 2029, so who knows what will happen until then. We can always hope! 🤷‍♂️

That’s why I’m not asking it to give me actual code I should use, but keep it high level. If it then says there are patterns x,y and z that could be usable, I can look it up myself and also write the code itself. Using it to actually write the code is mostly garbage, yes. And in any case you still need to have an idea of what you’re doing yourself anyway.

This. I’m a software engineer and I also sometimes use it by providing it a problem and asking it for ideas how to solve them (usually with the addition of “don’t write any code”, I do that myself, thanks). It gives me a few pointers that I can then follow. Sometimes it’s garbage, sometimes it’s quite good.

The world isn’t black and white. Just because the USA is bad, doesn’t mean it’s opponents (in that case BRICS) are good. It sounds nice and easy, but that just isn’t the reality. All global players have some flaws (or are outright evil) and you can only figure out for yourself which of these bother you the least. Basically: “USA bad” does not implicate “enemies of the US good”
