I’ve seen my fair share of ttrpg drama first hand. But I have yet to see this happen and I expect it would completely demoralize most players for an evening.

I wonder if there are any downsides to machines like this. For example, do the birds grow dependent on the machines to survive? If so, what happens if smoking rates drop?

This is much more than mildly interesting. I find this fascinating! The crows being so capable. The cleverly constructed symbiotic relationship. The fact that such machines are funded at all. Maybe I’m just jealous of what European countries can do with with public funds 😒

Hollow knight was great for these exact reasons! Very easy to pick up and put down. Also gives you something with a longer term progression. Oh and backpack battles too. Fantastic little game. These three games basically entertained a party of my brain through the first 2+ years of fatherhood

Basically one of the founders, Andy, posted on twitter some praise of Donald Trump and the US Republicans party. I didn’t love but it wasn’t so exactly horrible IMO. But as people replied, Andy started answering via Proton’s official twitter account. And these were much worse.

The worst part was not Andy’s initial posts it was his initial “let me correct the narrative” follow ups where he went on to bash Democrats and call the Republicans the party of the little guy, which is in many ways untruthful.

It’s just a really bad look overall. This is basically how it started with us finding out Musk was such a mess too.

For my purposes, the event prompted me to learn a tad more about Proton’s finances. I discovered that the company donates to political parties in the US and elsewhere. IMO, this kind of thing gives people a good reason to care about this kind of “internet drama” because Proton uses its revenue to influence politics. I don’t know any details of how they do so, but this event made me question if I should continue using their services.

It’s been a while but I think it’s a two-person business. Unfortunately, my one experience buying from them was quite poor and I bought elsewhere. But the site has excellent info and seems to stay up to date on the best and latest batteries for high performance use cases.

One thing to note is that the site admin (Austin) focuses on rcs racing or something. It’s a different use case than flashlights and so I found that the judgements mixed into the information aren’t quite right. Still, the information is excellent and well presented. And it’s a simple place to find “the best” batteries currently available.

I have the molicel p50b’s. They’re excellent. Just be sure that you have a charger and flashlights that handle unprotected cells!

While this article offers a nice list of multiplexers, I feel like it misses a subset of them: terminal emulators that offer multiplexing features. For example, when I adopted wezterm into my workflow, I suddenly had no need for zellij and quickly removed it from my dotfiles/machines. Surely, other emulators also belong in this list too

And when I went hunting for fonts, I found that homebrew has a huge collection of fonts available for easy install. I personally found the GitHub repo easier to explore. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the inclusion of some small AI feature is what justified the rest of this work being done. As in, someone got approval for tab groups only because they were smart enough to describe it as “AI powered tab groups“. Just speculation
