I use CC quite a lot. People in the CC are supposed to read the email because it is in their interest, even though they don’t need to reply.

We decided to go with option 2 because option 1 was too technically complicated to implement and the big boss didn’t like the color of option 3. Please, send the assets to Programmer and forward your invoice to Middle Manager.

I don’t get the point of fast food chains anymore. Never really ate there, but I always had the idea it was a cheap place where to eat.
This past year I’ve been once in burger king, where I spent about 10€, and I tried KFC for the first time, where I spent some 15€. I did not eat enough even at such a high price.
With 15€ i can go to an actual restaurant, why would I go to a fast food place?
Depends on what kind of company you work at. Most companies I know would just be: you need a phone, go buy one and give us a receipt.
Not all companies are big tech, and most companies likely can not afford the added cost of spying on employees.
The state is now divided among different contending military governments. It’s basically been in a perpetual state of civil war since the fall of Gaddafi. The situation is stable enough that they can have some international relationships, but not very much. They’re one of the destinations of migrants from other African countries, who intend to cross the sea to Italy. However most of them are not allowed to cross it and thus fill the country.
I can’t say much more regarding day to day life, as I have never been there.

Fedora is not an atomic distribution. I use fedora and I have Steam, it works.

I don’t know, I imagine there is some use case. The fact that a flatpak for a software exists does not mean that flatpak is the best installation option.

Debatable: while countries did enter NATO that is not the same as getting acquired by a dictator. The resources of such countries were not taken by the “occupying” forces.
As an exercise I’ll take this as a valid case. That still makes them only 2 examples throughout human history, does that count as a common way in which wars start?
It counts under the first point in the list above. However, it sounds to me like you’re referring to current events; how would that address my question? My question is regarding historical examples to treat such mechanics as an established and common way in which wars appear.
I don’t remember too many wars starting that way, but I may be very wrong.

Wow, this is astounding. I don’t love windows, but last time I used it it was at least reliable enough that you could work on it with little problems. If they lose that, then there’s little more value that windows still brings to the table, except software which is only developed for windows.
Indeed, I imagine controller support is not one of the top priorities of plasma. It is likely most developers do not even have a controller to test whether changes affect its usability.
However, just so it is clear, no it is not only volunteers. There is people paid to maintain KDE and plasma. That is why it is a good idea to give some money to the project if you use it: it actually improves the thing.

Do you know European funds can not be used to hire Iranians because the US demanded so? I know it because I was hiring an Iranian person until I figured I could not.
Open source software does not cover most needs, and server capacity is mostly in the US. I doubt you can switch away in one month from us software, do you have open source software for safe information storage and retrieval of patient data in hospitals that complies with the regulations of all 27 states of the EU? While China can produce things, they do not have strong chip designers. If they were to produce good enough chips I guess they’d keep them for internal use for quite a while.

What does this have to do with the point? I was pointing out that it is unrealistic to assume that the majority of the US population despises Trump, yet he won the elections in a dual party system. That is because if you despise one of the parties in such a system then the choice is very clear.

Then if I should take both this point and the one above as true, the conclusion should be: over half the Americans despise Trump, but a larger quantity despise Democrats more than Trump.
That is not the current situation.
The comment above did not say let’s focus the next 10 years to build a software stack that does not depend on US software. It said let’s immediately stop importing stuff from the US. That is not something you can in a moment substitute without massive disruption.
Computer parts are made in China and Taiwan mostly, sure. But: AMD is American, intel is American, Nvidia is American. Go build a computer without using parts coming from one of these companies.
The “average American” despises Trump
How did Trump win the elections in a two party system if over half the population despises him? I know the US electoral system is not directly related to raw amount of votes, but still.
Not where I live, no. And wouldn’t I rather take them to an actual restaurant? I mean, if we leave the house to go eat somewhere I’d rather take the family to a nice place and eat something good.
Don’t know how much faster the fast food is, when I’ve been to that burger king I tell you I have been fighting with that automatic ordering machine for 10 good minutes before I actually succeeded.
If I have to go to the shop, order, get the food and take it back home I’m better off cooking at home.
I never used them, but I guess at this point if you really don’t want to cook nor to go out you’re better off with those applications which allow you to order food at your place from any restaurant.
I can understand eating out when you have no time to get back home, but then I have much better options where to eat at the same price or even cheaper.
