Voles aids the learning of vocabulary in a foreign language. Items for study are entered by the user and stored in a multi-modal 'dictionary'. Voles then presents the items to the user in the form of a weighted, randomized quiz.

- User can enter several features of target vocabulary items in both languages, e.g. written, phonetic, usage, keywords
- Powerful search tool included, with special features for Chinese
- Audio for each item can be recorded and played back
- Quiz can present any feature (written, phonetic, audio etc.) of vocabulary as question and answer
- Audio can be chained together to make an Audio Quiz for study on the move
