The Poet is a daily comic strip I started drawing in 2020. That’s me, Todd Webb, pretending to draw a picture I already drew.
Comic strips are an art form in transition - since their inception they were made to be delivered daily, with the newspaper, and in that way they became a part of our daily routines. Then they sort of shifted to social media, until algorithms started choosing what we saw for us. Now, with less newspapers, and more algorithms, I’ve decided to use the good-old email newsletter as a delivery method. That’s where Substack comes in handy.
My hope is that through this newsletter, The Poet, Pigeon, and Park Bench can become part of your morning routine - and together, we can keep this little art alive.
Who is this for?
People who love comics.
Including but not limited to:
people who love comics.
people who like poetry.
people who hate poetry.
fans of pigeons.
park bench enthusiasts.
I hope The Poet brightens your day, or helps you think about things in a different way. I know making it helps me with both of those things.
(If you know someone else like that you can tell them about The Poet by clicking the button below.)
What to Expect
Every morning, at 8am, EST, you’ll get a simple email containing that day’s comic.
I draw other things from time to time, and release different kinds of art, but this newsletter is specifically for The Poet, so mention of other projects will be kept brief and to a minimum. If you’re interested in other stuff I make, be sure to check out my WEBSITE.
It’s free to subscribe, but paid subscribers literally, tangibly, physically help me to be able to keep making new comics every single day - so THANK YOU!
Stay up-to-date
You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox. It’s just like getting The Poet in the daily paper, but without the paper!
