Stuart McLeod reposted thisStuart McLeod reposted thisDeepfake Accounting, Anyone? Ted Chiang argued in The Atlantic last week that we should treat AI-generated text as a deepfake medium. Tug on that thread and it extends a surprisingly long way: — Deepfake startups: AI-assisted coding is producing products that look exactly like fully built business applications, moving data plausibly and feeling real even to their creators, while being facsimiles of software with no deep product thinking behind the facade — Deepfake accounting: some Making Tax Digital apps now use LLMs to categorise transactions through pattern matching rather than accounting rules, generating errors that are invisible to the user and undetectable without re-deriving the figures from source evidence, the problem Lucy Cohen has named Stochastic Contamination — And like every deepfake, the facade holds right up until the moment it is relied upon for something that matters Full piece: https://lnkd.in/eR5AWvxC

Stuart McLeod posted thisArchie is looking for a unicorn! Forward Deployed Engineers who are also qualified accountants. Here's the thing. At Archie we are building an AI workforce for accounting, and our platform delivers actual work in production environments: close, audit, tax, you name it. However, you can't deliver corporate tax prep (or any accounting work for that matter) for thousands of clients, end to end from a product spec. You need to design the process expertly, combining your past experience and customer interaction with firms all around the UK. You have built the spreadsheets, delivered the workpapers, and experienced the mistakes a partner will pick up instantly. Now you get to be a part of the revolution.... So we need someone rare: ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with real practice experience inside firms, who can also build. You don't need to have written Python and SQL before, but it would definitely help. You will be wiring up integrations, shipping WorkStreams every day... Someone whose instinct is "I'll build it," not "I'll log a ticket." You'd sit with large firms, learn how they actually work, and build the WorkStreams that automate the industry. End to end, in the room. It's in Oakham, Rutland, England, in person. By choice. The best version of this work happens when we work closely together, with our team in the same room. If that's you, or you know this unicorn, please get in touch!

Stuart McLeod reposted thisStuart McLeod reposted thisMy daughter Vida is five years old, profoundly autistic and non-verbal. She is the most extraordinary person I know. With a smile that lights up every room. Vida attends a small designated provision at her mainstream primary school called ‘The Nest’, alongside three other children with significant needs. The team there know her, understand her, and have been a lifeline for our family. But The Nest is full. There are children in our community with needs every bit as significant as Vida’s who cannot access that same support, because the space simply isn’t there. Two of Vida’s teachers and two mums of children in The Nest, one of them my wife Verity, are throwing themselves out of a plane to change that. They are raising money for new equipment and to help build a bigger space, so more children like Vida can be supported in the years to come. Fundraising link in the comments. With £1,500 raised so far. Every donation moves this closer to something real for children who desperately need it. Thank you for reading and watching.

Stuart McLeod shared this👀 ng forward to this and catching up with many many peopl today 😃Stuart McLeod shared thisI'm excited (and a bit nervous) to be speaking at Accountex for the first time today. Stuart McLeod, Alastair Barlow FCCA and Des O'Neill will be discussing: What happens to the value of relationships when your client is AI? It's a question I've been thinking over for weeks. In a world where most of a business is being run by agents, what does a firm, client relationship actually look like? Where does the value sit? Who is the relationship even with? These aren't totally philosophical questions, the reality of this isn't that far off. Genuinely interested to see where we all land on this one. If you are interested too, come along to: Theatre 11: AI 12:20 PM today, May 13, 2026. #AccountexLondon #finance #accounting

Stuart McLeod shared thisGreat stuff, Lane Clark - keep going!Stuart McLeod shared thisRunning Towards Something MUCH Bigger Than £25m…📊📊📊📊 This photo pretty much sums up the last few years. Head down. Focused. Knackered at times.😳 But moving forward regardless.👍 Because the reality is… In about an hour, we’ll open our latest TPP share issue to a small group of investors.📊📊📊 And yes, this round values TPP at approximately £25m GBP. 💰 A number I’m incredibly proud of.😁 But also one that, truthfully? Doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of where I believe this can go. This is only the beginning. Our first raise valued us at roughly £7m.📊 Back then we were an idea, a mission, and a belief that investing could be done differently. People backed the vision. In fact, we sold £1m of shares in 36 seconds. The second raise? One investor. One conversation. One allocation gone. 12.5m GBP valuation…… Bosh…. 📊📊📊 Now? The traction is real. The client growth is accelerating. The engagement is exploding. The strategies are performing. The brand is spreading. And more importantly… The mission is resonating.😎 Because TPP was never built to become “just another wealth manager.” It was built to challenge an industry that, in our opinion, became stale, outdated, overpriced, and far too comfortable underdelivering. We want to build something genuinely different. A platform obsessed with: * performance * transparency * innovation * alignment * and proving what’s possible when you stop accepting mediocrity That’s what excites me.😀😀😀 Not the valuation. Not the headlines. Not paper wealth. 💵 💰 💴 The exciting part is imagining where this journey could be in 5–10 years if we continue executing at this pace. Could we help tens of thousands of investors globally? 🤔 Could we permanently change expectations within wealth management? 🤔 Could we build one of the most disruptive investment businesses in the UK?🤔 I genuinely believe we can.👍👍 In fact, I’m adamant we can, and I’m so pumped to deliver!!!! This next chapter feels like another major step toward that. To those who have expressed an interest in being involved in this round keep an eye out for an email around midday today!!!! ⏰ If you’re one of our clients, and haven’t heard about this, but would like to find out more, DM me asap!!! The clock is ticking. 🕰️….: Thank you for believing in the mission everyone…. Buckle up. Because I honestly think we’re only just getting started. Let’s go!!! Here is to a belting week and to gaining more traction on our mission to change the game forever!!!!!😀😀📊📊📊📊 Let’s make it happen….. 😎 #TPP #Investing #Entrepreneur #WealthManagement #BusinessGrowth #Fintech #InvestmentPlatform #FounderJourney #Disruption #Finance #ScaleUp #UKBusiness TPP Edward Davies

Stuart McLeod shared thisA peek under Archie's hood. Over the next few weeks I'm going to walk through each piece of this — band by band, agent by agent — and show how modern AI products are actually being built today. It's a genuinely exciting time. The tools, the patterns, the way it all comes together — it's kind of magical when you see it click. No debates! No takes on the future of the industry. Just the build, and why it's so compelling once you see what's possible. Looking forward to sharing it.

My little man wants to be an accountant like his dad when he grows up (he thinks accountants are just YouTubers, nobody tell him otherwise). My baby girl is the sweetest little angel sent from above. My beautiful wife is the glue that holds us together and I couldn't do what I do without her. And it doesn't get any better than getting to work with your dad every single day like I do. This weekend with the fam was long overdue. I am a lucky man. Truly doesn't get better than this.

Our government (yes they belong to all of us!) need feedback for a proposed #AIGrowthLab - a publicly funded AI innovation/regulatory sandbox. For the doubters: 1. We (TIKOS®) have been engaged with the AI Security Institute in the last month regarding a research project. They have moved FAST with real energy and a pragmatic approach. (The AISI are a UK publicly funded body focused on AI safety and security research). 2. AI regulatory sandboxes, if done well, can help move 'risky but important' use cases along much faster. AI Verify Foundation in Singapore is a good example and the Financial Conduct Authority has long experience too - along with providers such as NayaOne. The #EUAIAct mandates member states to stand-up their own AI regulatory sandboxes by 2nd August 2026 (Article 57). So you'll soon see similar initiatives popping up all over the Europe. In summary - good idea. Get involved. #AIGrowthLab #AIRegulation #TrustworthyAI #ResponsibleAI #AIInnovation #UKTech #GovTech #EUAIAct

I’m heading to Gateway to Growth in NYC next week. A curated B2B event with top corporates, startups, and operators, all focused on scaling impact with AI. I keep hearing from enterprise teams: "Our AI products keep making up answers" or "No matter what we do, we keep getting inconsistent results" The hard truth: It's almost always a data problem. CRM notes, call recordings, PDFs, emails, that’s where most of the context actually lives. But this data is unstructured, siloed, and hard to trust. And if your data can’t be trusted, neither can your AI workflows. So, my advice: Stop trying to tune the answers & start fixing the data and the context behind them. #GatewayToGrowth
