This community is catered toward writers in any stage of their journey, from those nurturing their ideas to those wrestling with a final draft. Whether it’s your first novel or your fifteenth, we’re all in it together.

Learning the Craft
This is content and posts that are derived to help break down the complexities of novel writing. I’ll share thoughts and writing on elements of the craft, including topics such as planning, character development, plotting, setting, point of view, conflict, dialogue and much more.
You’ll get help and advice that you can implement into your writing straight away.
Not all writing advice will come from the same place! I’m looking forward to hosting guest writers and directing you to some of my other favorite resources to support your writing journey.

Writing is hard. Usually frustrating. Sometimes lonely. But it doesn’t have to be.
With Write Your Novel! you’ll find a supportive and collaborative community of like-minded writers.
Through the Substack chat, group discussions, comments and, hopefully virtual events too, you’ll be able to share progress, ask for help when you need it, and celebrate the writing wins—no matter how small!
Plus, we run small cohorts for beta reading exchanges and more for both free and paid subscribers. You’ll be able to find your own tiny community within our large community, creating a whole complex network of support!

One of the most important elements of writing a novel is accountability. Because there is no need to write a novel for most of us, other parts of life end up getting in the way.
(Trust me, as a parent working more than full time, I know how easy it is to fall into that trap.)
Here, you’ll find multiple accountability systems at your service, including weekly chat check-ins. I respond to every accountability check personally. If you’re looking for a little pick-me-up or a mini-celebration in your honor, you’ll find it here!

Feedback Opportunities
One of the most challenging parts of writing is getting feedback.

Every week, to accompany the weekly writing prompt post, you’ll have the opportunity to drop your writing prompt response in a new chat thread. I’ll personally respond to every post, and others will have the opportunity to respond as well.
For paid and founding subscribers, you’ll have the additional opportunity to receive an editorial assessment (essentially, an extremely detailed professional beta read & response) on your first 5 chapters or your entire manuscript, respectively.
Publishing Support
Once you’ve finished your novel, the next steps can be complicated. A subscription to Write Your Novel! includes information and support as you take the next steps in your publishing journey.
