Experimental project
This is a sandbox project, which contains experimental code for developer use only.
Use alternative projects like lullabot issue board or Contribkanban
What is it?
DrupalBoard is a distribution (going to power http://www.drupalboard.org) that allows to build scrum boards for the projects in drupal.org.
Why do we need?
- drupal.org has more than 27,000 project (modules/themes/distributions).It is very hard to find the stable module with good support
- Contributing to any module is very hard because of the way issue queues maintained in drupal.org
Both maintainers & contributors don’t have better understanding of what is important/focused at the moment, until involved heavily on a particular module development. - www.drupal8multilingual.org, www.drupal8cmi.org, www.drupaldate.org and etc... trying to solve this very same problem, but it is too many places/sites to follow to contribute to different projects.
How it helps?
- This main site(www.drupalboard.org) lists all the projects available and high level view of each projects (like status of maintainers, how much issues getting burned by day/week/month).
- Extend to rank the modules maintainability and response time - encourage maintainers to act on issues.
- Visibility of top contributors and future maintainers
- Spend time on concentrate and work on issues and direct developers to help vs Spend time to "find" an issue.
Why can not implement in drupal.org
- It may be over load or excessive customisation in drupal.org
- Good to have sub-domain with option to maintainers to customise, manage
- More visibility and contributor credits
How it works?
- Maintainer(s) of a Drupal project (module/theme/distributions) with more than X user downloads and/or Y no.of.issues(should definition X & Y from the statistical data of drupal.org) requests for a board.
- After manual verification, the site will be approved and new sub-domain PROJECT.drupalboard.org will be created
- Maintainers are free to create list of boards like focus board, novice board, triage board, etc (e.g. www.drupaldate.org), users and instructions specific to project
- If there is no activity on a project for more than X months, the sub-domain will be automatically removed.
What do we need to build this site?
Development
- Most of the common functionalities are in Rocketship. IMHO, it is good to release as beta.
- The main domain functionalities will be covered as part of this distribution
Hosting
We need a Drupal hosting provider.
