ONWARD!

Vision Statement Every school age child will have access to a high-quality, sustainable afterschool program that will offer custom-tailored, innovative, enriching, and fun programs supported by all members of the ONSU community.

ONWARD! Mission Statement The mission for ONWARD! is to provide quality afterschool programs led by committed, effective, compassionate instructors and professionals who will facilitate student learning in Common Core Standards, Promote 21st Century Learning Skills*, and nurture the social, emotional, and physical development of school age children.

Program and Instructor Expectations: v All programs offered through ONWARD! must support the vision and mission statements as stated above. v Instructors will provide a welcoming and safe learning environment. v Instructors will be passionate and knowledgeable about the subject being taught. v All programs will include at least 4 stated learning goals, the activities students will participate in to meet the goals, and a final product in the form of pictures, displays, audio/video recordings, performances, presentations, etc. v Instructors will submit a pre- and post-assessment that correlates to the learning goals. v Certified classroom teachers who instruct a program that is Common Core Standard based will be required to submit a planning sheet at the conclusion of the program. v Programs will be intentionally designed to meet the needs of students.
