Introduction of Ms-Excel
Microsoft Excel is an Advance Spreadsheet. Where spreadsheet is Software which
substitutes the paper worksheets of office. Some of the common office sheets are
Mark Sheets, Balance Sheets etc.
n Spreadsheet the !ata is displa"ed in the form of #$%WS& and #'%()M*S&. +he
intersection of the same is called #'E((&, the area where all the data, formulas, etc.
are entered.
Microsoft Excel is a window based spreadsheet developed b" Microsoft 'orporation.
f included all the features of a spreadsheet packa,e like recalculation, ,raphs and
functions. Excel can be used to hold ,raphics ob-ects like picture and ima,e.
Some of the main feature of Advance Spreadsheet is that it recalculates the results of
a mathematical or lo,ical function if the source is chan,ed.
Excel can maintain lar,e volume of data. A worksheet can contain ./,/0. rows and
1/. columns 2Cells 16,777,216). A sin,le 'E(( can contain at max 1// characters.
%ne Workbook can contain at max 1// sheets.
B" default there are 0 sheets. +o chan,e there name double click on them and t"pe
new name. +o move between various sheet press Ctrl+PAGE UP for previous sheet
and Ctrl+PAGE DOWN for next sheet. Excel is Multiple !ocument nterface 2M!3
that means we can open more then 4 workbook at a time. +o close all or Save all the

EXCEL WINDOW :
+he main window which we see in Excel consists of +itle bar, +oolbars, Scroll
bars, Address Box , 6ormula bar , Sheets pa,es etc.

can work with man" open files Excel at the same time. +hus, this buttons are
