Chughtai public library was established in November 4, 2013. It is a nonprofit organization. The main objective of which is to establish a center where students and
aspiring scholars of all ages and disciplines from every walk of life and every strata
of society can find an opportunity to learn and carry out research.
Chughtai Public Library aims to provide common man an environment where he can
flourish his/her knowledge and let him feel that good books are good friends and
finally to serve humanity. Chughtai public library is providing free of charge services
in the modern environment.
CPL has approximately 5000
books both in urdu and English on
different subjects like computer
science, mysticism, Iqbaliat, Quaid
e azam, history of Pakistan, Islamic
history, philosophy, Islam, Social
Sciences, Natural Sciences, Politics,
Urdu & English literature, text
books and childrens books. CPL
has very rare collection on education from 1800 to 2014 for researchers.
Children Section have a rich collection of books including 3D & animated books and complete collection of kalaam publications, Oxfords children publications, bestselling kids series and a good collection of basic Islamic knowledge for
children.
Standard books on various subjects are being continually acquired on the demand of
library users. Chughtai public library has special focus on CSS exam preparation
material.
Reference section is located at ground floor with wide range of reference material
i.e. encyclopedia, dictionaries, atlases, etc. It provides reference services to researchers and general users.
Chughtai Public Library has an archive of local newspapers both in Urdu and English.
The CPL has maintained record of newspapers from November, 4 2013 to onward
of different newspapers.

CPL Reading Room
Chughtai Public Library has initiated a project to establish CPL Reading Rooms nationwide. This is an effort to
provide education to the nation at their nearest place.
Dream comes true when CPL management has inaugurated first Reading Room at main boulevard Allama Iqbal
Town, Lahore on September 23, 2014.
There are 300 books on various topics including books for children are kept at Reading Room initially.
We are getting wonderful feedback from
the public who are using CPL Reading Room.

CPL Organized a Summer Camp
Library had organized a free of cost Summer camp for children in Summer Vacations. It was started from 22
June 2014. About sixty Children were registered for Summer camp. There were a lot of activities of learning
for children. The summer camp was mainly a fun way of learning for the children where different methods were
adopted to improve the learning level over the period of one month for the children of Central Park & nearest
villages. It was a great event enjoyed by children.
We felt much pleasure when children reported us that they have started waiting for summer camp 2015 even
after the last day of 2014 summer camp. Following activities were included:

Painting & Sketching
Islamic Education
Computer Learning
Spoken English course etc.

Views of CPL Patrons:
Mr. Nisar is preparing for CSS exam using services of Chughtai Public Library.
He Says:
Where the successive governments in Pakistan deliberately ignored the educational
facilities for general masses there are few people like Dr. A.S. Chughtai who are courageous enough too immediately project like Chughtai Public Library. It is as to my
knowledge one of the best public library in Pakistan. The staff is very cooperative eager to help the readers. The environment is very comfortable and healthy for the readers. There are many facilities that are not available in other libraries.
For instance CPL provides photocopy facilities, printing facilities, transportation and even refreshment facilities
without any cost to the readers. The membership is free and you can request for any book you want to study.
Moreover the timing of the library is thirteen hours more than other libraries in Pakistan. The management of
the CPL is planning to provide the reading facilities nationwide. They are focusing the remote areas to kindle
light of knowledge in backward areas.
God bless Dr. A.S. Chughtai who is working for this great deed of national importance
Mrs. Rashid is a house wife & a very active User of CPL. She had started using CPL
since its establishment.
She Says:
I am a member of Chughtai public library since its establishment in November 2013.
I am a graduate but still I am a student. I often visit Punjab public Library and Quaid-eAzam Library. After shifting residence to central Park. I found CPL which is also a complete source of information. It is not only a store-building or rooms containing a collection of books. Actually it is
a house of knowledge .It is a place that is open to poor and rich alike. It is very useful for rural youth too.
Its staff is very cooperative, furniture is comfortable and peaceful environment is very good.
In view of above it is appreciated that Chughtai Public Library is a precious asset for central Park Housing
scheme. I always pray for it flourishes.

CPL Welcomes Donations
The Chughtai Public Library accepts donations of any kind that support and further the mission, goals and objectives of the Library, as established by the Board of Governors of CPL.
An acknowledgement of receipt of a donation will be made to the donor in writing within ten business days of
receiving the gift.
