Preparing the Installa0on Files


Visit h3p://www.hdx1080.com/download
Go to HDX Bone sec0on, Google Android Sec0on.
Download according to the release dates, whichever is the latest.

Extract the downloaded le and copy to the upda0ng source.


Make sure that your archive u0lity does not con0nue to extract the le! The end result should be a
lename without extension. For example, HDXV012_android_20100428-103404 instead of a
directory!

The HDX Bone is able to detect sources from the internal HDD or a thumb drive
connected via a USB mini-b to type A female connector, as shown below.

Prepare a primary EXT3 par00on and a NTFS par00on in your HDD. We recommend at
least 10% of the HDD capacity for EXT3, this will ensure sucient space for your needs.
If you are unsure how to create a EXT3 par00on, please download this free program
Par00on Wizard (h3p://www.par00onwizard.com/free-par00on-manager.html)
Copy the android installa0on le into the ROOT directory of your NTFS forma3ed
par00on.

No EXT3 par00on required, as the installa0on le is able to par00on automa0cally for
you if you are using the thumb drive upgrade method.
The setup wizard will automa0cally, create a EXT3 par00on for the android installa0on,
we do recommend that you back up any data in your HDD to prevent any unforeseeable
circumstances which is unlikely.
Copy the android installa0on le into the ROOT directory of your thumb drive.
Connect the thumb drive to the mini-b to type A converter and hook it up to the bone
before plugging in the power cable.

Turn on your HDX Bone, and navigate to SETUP page as shown below and select the
system icon.

Proceed to Android Install, and press PLAY bu3on on your remote

In approximately, 5mins the installa0on will complete. A short prompt will appear
to no0fy you that installa0on process is completed. You will be returned to the
setup page.

Cycle the power by pressing the power bu3on on your remote.

Select Android OS, you have 5sec before the system automa0cally boot to HDX

If you see the snow mountain, your


android is successfully installed.

Please do not power-o the HDX Bone during the upgrading process, this may cost
your unit to be faulty.
