First Conditional

They express situations that are possible or likely to happen.

If / when Present  Present

 If/when you don´t water the plants, they die

If Present ( Present Continuous, Present Perfect)  Future ( will, To be going to,


Future Continuous, Future Perfect)

 If you don´t call me first, I won´t call you .

 You´re going to have fun if we go to see Avatar.

If Present  Modal verb.

 If it rains, you should stay at home.

If Present  Imperative.

 If you need my help, call me!

Second Conditional
They express situations that are imaginary or unlikely to happen.

If Past Simple Simple Conditional ( Would )

 If I won the lottery, I´d quit my job.

Expresiones que rigen el uso del pasado:

I wish / If only / I’d rather

I wish you were here; If only we found it!; I’d rather you spoke frankly.

Third Conditional
They express imaginary or hypothetical situations

If Past Perfect ( had +P.P)  Perfect Conditional ( Would have + P.P)

 If we had caught that train, we had arrived on time.

Conjunctions introducing conditional sentences

Si… = If; Si no / A no ser que… = Unless

Type 0: IF = WHEN(EVER) – If I make a promise, I keep it.

IF = AS, SINCE, – If / As / Since you haven’t done your homework, you won’t be able to
follow this lesson.

SUPPOSE/SUPPOSING – Suppose I go to NY, what will you do? Suppose I went to NY,
what would you do? Suppose I had been to New York, what would you have done?

Also, ON CONDITION / PROVIDED, AS LONG AS.
