New Smoking Policy
Here at Fox Associates, we are committed to providing our employees with a
safe, healthy and comfortable workplace. The city of Chicago has already
implemented a Clean Air Ordinance, and we are motivated to bring such a
policy into our offices. With the New Year already here, we have implemented a
new no smoking policy in efforts to do so. The following policy has been adopted
and should be followed by all employees, and is effective immediately.
It is the policy at Fox Associates to prohibit any tobacco usage on company
grounds. The new designated smoking area will be on the southeast end of the
building in the alley next to the garbage dumpsters. The law defines smoking as
the act of lighting, smoking or carrying a lit or smoldering cigarette, cigar or pipe
of any kind.
By implementing such a policy, we are working in efforts to better:
Overall employee health and safety
Office productivity
Lower risk of fires
Employees who smoke will be more likely to quit
We apologize to those who have been compliant with the past policy, and any
and all complaints due to the new policy should be submitted in writing and
addressing specific objections. All complaints should be brought to Human
Resource Management and will be further investigated.
