Generative Shape Modeling Guide

This document provides step-by-step instructions for creating a 3D model using Generative Shape Modelling tools. It involves creating points, lines, circles, sweeps, splits, fillets and other features. Parameters are defined and used to drive dimensions. The model is then modified by changing the parameter values, lines, sketches and other elements.

GSM: Getting Started

1) Select Shape Design Workbench, create a new parameter:

Type: Length
Name: Radius_In
Value=10mm

DASSAULT SYSTEMES S.A. 1999

2)
Create Point.1
type Coordinates
X=Radius_In
(Edit Formula in
contextual menu)
Y=Z=0mm

3) Create
Symmetry.1,
Element: Point.1
Reference: yz plane

4) Create the following

points, all are type
Coordinates:
Point.2 (45,0,0)
Point.3 (105,0,0)
Point.4 (100,20,0)

Circle.2
Center: Point.3
Point: Symmetry.1
Support: xy plane
Start:0deg
End: 45deg

6) Create Circle.3
type two point and a radius
Point 1: Symmetry.1
Point 2: Point.1
Support: zx plane
Radius=Radius_In

5) Create the following

center-point circles:

7) Create Sweep.1
type: Explicit
Guide curve: Circle.2
Profile: Circle.3
Spine: no selection
Second guide: Circle.1
Positioned profile: ON

Surface: select zx plane

Point: Point.1
Start 0mm, end 20mm
9) Create Line.2 Angle to curve
Curve: Line.1
Support: xy plane
