Result and Calculation

This document describes an experiment to determine the mass transfer coefficient of propionic acid extraction using 0.1 M and 0.025 M NaOH solutions. For each concentration, the distribution coefficient K, driving forces ΔX1 and ΔX2, logarithmic mean driving force (LMDF), and mass transfer coefficient were calculated. The mass transfer coefficients were found to be 1.095298 min-1 for 0.1 M NaOH and also 1.095298 min-1 for 0.025 M NaOH.
