SSIGNMENT: REFLECTIONS ON VIDEOS

TVF PITCHERS
1. A start up by four youths who left their jobs- Naveen and his friends, shows
the entrepreneurship traits required for new ventures.
Freedom. Entrepreneurs like freedom to exhibit their creative skills
and hence, need to come out of cocoon and pursue their passion. All
these youths came out of their shell with a saying Tu Beer Hain,
which means it can flow anywhere anytime.
Uncertainties. Uncertainties are part of any start up, this team also
faced lot of uncertainties in the initial stage, but every one of them
remained patient and accepted each others mistake.
Team formation/Role. For any start up building a good team is very
crucial. Its integration, understanding and accepting each other are
important to define the role, responsibility and control to avoid
conflicts. Naveen and his team went through conflicts. Conflicts in an
organization gives rise to ideas.
Team leader. All accepted Naveen as their leader and his decisions
in unison.
Vision. Vision has to be very clear for any start-up which this team
described as Finding the solutions of problems. The vision has to
be supported by ideas and skills, not on the basis of personal greed.
Risk and Growth. Risk is the companion of any Start-up and as a
entrepreneur need to take risk to grow higher. They faced all
challenges with full grit and did everything to get funding.
Passion. Passion for your work is key to success and which they
displayed in their work and also in search for Venture Capitalists.
Perseverance. Never Give Up was clearly understood by them and
they kept on chasing the VC to get seed funding for their start-up.
Something Ventures
1. It describes how the innovations were done by entrepreneurs and their
origin of source of funding.

It was in 1950 when eight engineers thought of starting a new venture
with innovation. None to fund their start-ups and take risk on their
idea. Initially even the banks and major companies refused to fund the
start-ups. Arthur Rock was the first one to invest in Fairchild
Enterprise, making sophisticated silicon chip and the company
started at a place which is later known as Silicon Valley.
Later on a few rich people started taking risk and started funding. By
1961, a number of technology companies were funded in electronic
devices.
This video shows how the venture capitalist and entrepreneurship with
innovation started taking shape for major giant companies like Intel.
Apple, Tandem computers, Atari, Gene tech and many.
It was the concept of VCs which brought the entrepreneurship in
forefront and made possible the creation of PC, Internet, Space
technology and Gene technology.
Arthur Rock, Tom Perkins, Don Valentine were the initial founders of
the concept of VC.
Crocodile in the Yangtze -Jack Ma
1. It is a story of a village boy from China who displayed his
entrepreneurship skills and later became a tycoon in the e-commerce industry.
This video shows the how a non-techy savvy computer entrepreneur started a
start-up and converted into a smaller company to a bigger company.
Entrepreneurship. Jack Ma is a true entrepreneur who formulated
his vision clearly, showed his creativity, passion, to have an impact
on the life of people. A child who learnt English from tourist- became
a teacher and later an entrepreneur.
Visionary. On his first visit to USA,he came to know about Internet,
and thought of his vision for his country in the upcoming technical
world. His vision was to create value for the customer through
innovation in digital world.
Leader. Jack Ma is a true leader who formed up his team, kept it
united, faced the challenges, motivated and brought the first Chinese
company on to the world stage after overcoming the hurdles of
political environment in his country.
Competitive Spirit. He has been very competitive along with his
team and said If Americans can do it, then Chinese also can. And
all the

17 founders took the pledge to work day and night, started with China
pages.
Challenges. He faced lot of challenges but always overcame with a
motto If we fail then someone else will succeed. He was always
patient during all crisis in the company and in ambiguous environment
full of uncertainties.
Expansion of Company. He understood that company foundation
has to be very strong to become the leader in the market. He hired
Specialists and started to focus to build organisation structure and
processes so that they dont lag behind at later stage in launching an
IPO and managing the company.
Exploitation and Exploration. He focused both on exploitation and
kept on exploring the future options. Started with China pages-
Trader website Alibaba.
Competitors Jack Ma understood the importance of competitors and
made strategies to deal with market environment. He also took on his
competitor head-on ie Ebay and defeated them strategically.
Organisation Culture. He understands the importance of
organisation culture. He started created values in his team and
company at the start only so that everyone is aligned towards the
company vision.
Determination and Courage. Jack Ma is totally determined to face
challenges and displayed his courage to come out of the unfavourable
situations and took the company to different platform
Elon Musk-Bloomberg Risk takers
1. A true entrepreneur who has displayed his ability to THINK BIG for the
future since childhood. An intelligent boy from South Africa reached to
Canada and then to USA for world of opportunities.
Visionary. Elon musk was a visionary who started his ventures very
early in the digital age by listing newspaper online. He had big dream
and vision to contribute for the betterment of humanity.
Focused. He was very confident about his dreams and always
remained focused. He kept on exploring new things and then came out
with new innovations. Started with newspaper Zip2, X.com
(electronic cash transfer) Space X, Solar power and Tesla.
Risk Capability and Big Picture. His risk capability was very high
that made to pursue his dreams. This is how he became successful in
developing electric car and rockets for the space.

Perseverance. To achieve anything perseverance is very important
which was evident in Tesla case. He even started working with all
engineers when it was on the verge of closing, he even funded Tesla
Company from his reserve capital.
Ethics. He has always been a part of the team and the most
hardworking employee who always set standards for his colleagues.
Leadership Skills. He has been true leader who had survived all ups
and downs and still created goods for the humanity. He has totally
transformed the industries of finance, solar and space.
