Slab Design

1) This document provides design details for a two-way slab with a thickness of 125mm located at NSMC. 2) The slab is designed to support a total dead load of 4.2 kN/m^2 and live load of 3 kN/m^2, for a total design load of 10.7 kN/m^2. 3) Reinforcement requirements are calculated for short and long spans of the slab. For the short span of 3505mm, 524 mm^2/m of 10mm diameter bars are required at midspan and supports. For the long span of 3700mm, 335 mm^2/m of 8mm diameter bars are required.
