Learning Outcome:
Compare and contrast a range of organizational environments whilst considering the influence
of change conditions.

Purpose of this assignment

This assignment will provide you with an understanding of the links between strategic
management and change management and the skills to apply this understanding to a selected
organisation.

Scenario

You are a management consultant who has been commissioned by an organisation to produce
a report that investigates the need for change management to support the organisations
business strategy and growth. The organisation has recently identified extensive changes in
technology and business dynamics in the markets it serves. There is a need to plan for change
and manage this situation.

The senior management team wants you to propose a change management plan for the
organisation.

Choose a small local business organization that you feel need a radical change.

Prepare a written report which include the following:

1. Introduction to the organisation chosen.


2. Perform a SWOT and PESTEL analysis of the organisation requiring change.
3. A discussion and critical evaluation of the background to the need for the
organisational change. Highlight the benefits of adopting change management for the
selected organization. Discuss also the consequence of not changing.
4. Discuss the role of strategic leadership in implementing change in the selected
organisation
5. Recommend and justify an appropriate change model/strategy including a strategy to
manage reactions to change, including any resistance. Include key findings of your
research.
6. How will you monitor and evaluate the success or failure of the proposed change
management plan?

Your report should contain the following:

Main body, which should be organised into numbered sections under appropriate headings.
