Master Text Hierarchies Transaction

The document describes how to create and load different types of master data in SAP BW/4HANA including: 1. Creating master data attributes and texts by defining an information area, characteristic, and data flow between the data source and master data object. 2. Creating transaction data by defining information cubes, characteristics, key figures, and data flow between the data source and information cube. 3. Loading text data for an information object by defining the data source and data flow between it and the information object. 4. Maintaining hierarchies for a master data characteristic by defining the hierarchy structure and linking it to the characteristic.

1-1) How to create master data?

Data flow:

IA  IOC  IO (create display , navigational attribute & activate)

 appln component

 create datasource (DATA TYPE DATASOURCE = MASTER DATA ATTRIBUTES

Master Data Texts

Transaction Data)

 create info package for datasource

 right click IA  insert characteristic as infoprovider( infoobject = SMID)

After the above step we can see as follows:

rsa1  modeling  infoprovider  salesmanid

ATTRIBUTES

TEXTS

 right click ATTRIBUTES create transformations between source and target

(specify update rules if any)

 dtp between source = datasource & target = IO (SMID) , subtype of objects = attributes
1-2) How to create transaction data?

Data flow:

IA  IOC  IO (char IO’s and KF IO’s)

 appln component

 create datasource (data type datasouce = Transaction data)

 create info package for datasource

 create IC

 transformations between source and target

 create dtp ( source = datasource , Target = InfoCube )

a) rsa1  modeling  infoobjects  right click on root node , create InfoArea

b) right click on IA, create IOC, right click IOC ,create char IO’s and KF IO’s.

c) rsa1  modeling  source systems  double click on the source system . It will take u to
Datasources Tab.
Right click on root node  create appln component  select appln com  create datasource 
create

infopackage.

d) create IC. rsa1  modeling  infoprovider  select IA  create InoCube

Drag and drop the respective char IO’s , KF IO’s and Time IO’s.

e) create transformations. Right click IC  create transformations. Map the fields.

f) create dtp. rsa1  modeling  infoProvider  right click on dtp folder  create data transfer
process.

source = datasource

target = InfoCube

1-3) How to Load text data for IO?

Say for example we want to Load text data for product Id. The flat file data is as follows.

PID OLANGU OTXTSH

P1 EN maruti

DataFlow:

IA  IOC  IO (char IO)

 right click PID  change mode  Master data/Texts Tab

Check the box Short text , Medium texts , Long texts

 Appln comp

 datasource (data type datasource = Master data Text

Master Data Attributes

Transaction Data)

 Infopackage

 IA  insert characteristic as Infoprovider  InfoObject = PID

After the above step we can see as follows:

rsa1  modeling  infoprovider  ProductID

ATTRIBUTES

TEXTS

 right click ATTRIBUTES , create transformations between source and target

 create dtp. Source = datasource , target = InfoObject (PID) , subtype of objects = texts
1-4) How to Maintain Hierarchies (for SMID)

DataFlow:

Create char IO  SAOFF.

 (right click) maintain master data for SAOFF (enter values as: NewDelhi, dehradun for each

salesman id)

 right click SMID  Hierarchies Tab  check the box With Hierarchies

 click button “External chars. In Hierarchies”

 Browse and select “SAOFF”

 Transfer To Selections

 Right click SMID  Create Hierarchy (Hierarchy name = sales by region)

Click text node = < India >

Right click North  Insert characteristic = < enter Delhi, dehradun>

Right click NewDelhi  ‘salesman ID’ Insert --> add sm1 & sm2
