FINGER PRINT BASED VEHICLE IDENTITY VERIFICATION
SYSTEM
Abstract
India is the second huge populated country in the world. The population is increasing day
by day; vast transportation is taking place all over the country. The everyday the two
wheelers and four wheelers7 vehicle numbers are increasing, so the vehicle identity
verification of the individual person must be difficult to traffic police the person can’t
show a proper document’s like License, vehicle insurance, RC book. The human mind
can’t remind all the things, so it is a major problem in vehicle identity verification of an
individual person. Our proposed system is automatic method of verifying the individual
vehicle identity of individual person vehicle documents using a finger print of each
person who having vehicle in the country. We use the Finger print authentication scheme
this is a non-imitable biometric authentication scheme. By using this method of
authentication, we can easily prevent the non-licensed person from driving. While issuing
the license, the vehicle owner finger print and all the vehicle documents are fully stored
in that database. So the person go anywhere in the country traffic signal the person
vehicle identity can be easily verified by the traffic police.
INTRODUCTION:
Almost all over the India Aadhaar card has been mandatory for every Indian citizen. The
Unique Identification Authority of India will be complete the enrolment process. Aadhaar
has crossed 100 crore people across the country have been issued the card. Using this E-
Aadhaar scheme, finger print and eye retina is taken by the government of India for
providing individual identity of person. Using this scheme we can find the personal
information of particular person easily within a fraction of seconds in our computer. In
our proposed idea, using E-AADHAR the complete vehicle details (including, license,
Insurance, RC book) of the person vehicle details stored digitally in online by the
government. Using this methodology, we can easily verify the vehicle documents of the
person without any hardcopy. By this proposed idea we can easily verify the vehicle
documents verified by traffic police, chances of reducing fine paid by the people for the
traffic police and easily identify theft vehicles.
LITERACTURE SURVEY
M. Vijay Kumar [1], proposed system was designed on keyless car instead of going with
key based authentication we are providing with biometric based authentication. A person,
who wishes to drive the vehicle, should verify with their face reorganization and finger
print whether he was having license or not, once verification done then ignition unit of
car will start automatically. If the person is not verified in the Face recognition the alarm
unit will be on, SMS and MMS will be sent to the owner.
CH.Venkateswarlu [2], proposed system was an alignment-based minutiae-matching
algorithm has been proposed. This algorithm is capable of finding the correspondences
between input minutiae and the stored template without resorting to exhaustive search
and has the ability to compensate adaptively for the nonlinear deformations and inexact
transformations between an input and a template. To establish an objective assessment of
our system, both the Michigan State University and the National Institute of Standards
and Technology NIST 9 fingerprint data bases have been used to estimate the
performance numbers. The experimental results reveal that our system can achieve a
good performance on these data bases. In this project we are using a fingerprint scanner
interfaced with the ignition system of the car. The user can drive the car only when he is
an authorized person. The fingerprint scanner is used to scan the finger image of the user
that is compared in the microcontroller and if the comparison with the pre-recorded
fingerprints is same then the person will be allowed to ignite the car else the car will not
work.
D.Archana Thilagavathy [3], proposed system was Fingerprint authentication or
recognition refers to the automated method of verifying a match between two human
fingerprints. Fingerprints are one of many forms of biometrics used to identify
individuals and verify their identity. The analysis of fingerprints for matching purposes
generally requires the comparison of several features of the print pattern. In this project,
we use the Finger print authentication scheme which is a no imitable biometric
authentication scheme. By using this biometric authentication, we can prevent the non-
licensed person from driving. Our proposed system consists of a smart card capable of
storing the finger print of a particular person. While issuing the license, the specific
person’s finger print is
to be stored in the card. At the time that person’s details are fully stored in that database.
So at anywhere the person should place on his finger on the finger print reader. That
person having license or not information will be displaying.
Karanam Geethanjali [4], proposed system is to prevent non-licensees from driving and
causing accidents, a new system is proposed. An important and very reliable human
identification method is fingerprint identification. Fingerprint identification is one of the
most popular and reliable personal biometric identification methods. Existing security
principle for the vehicles uses remote control access technology. No strong security
systems designed so far. So car thefts have increased in large numbers. In this project we
have developed seat belt detector, door lock sensor, alcohol sensor and Bio metric
sensors. All stages need to be cleared to switch on the ignition. All stages can be
performed sequentially.

Methodology
The proposed system consists of optical finger print scanner, Microcontroller, LCD
Display, interfacing switches and power supply. Initially the person finger is scanned by
finger print reader. The scanned Fingerprint is fed through microcontroller which
processes the data from the finger print and displays the person vehicle identity
documents like license, vehicle insurance, and RC book which matches in database and
the person name, license number, displayed in LCD. For detailed information like vehicle
number, insurance number, Engine number, License expired date and Insurance expired
date will be displayed by pressing appropriate keys in Keypad. After getting necessary
nformation the person vehicle identity is verified and the vehicle documents are not
proper the fine collected by the traffic police.
