ANALYSIS OF SITUATION
This Project aims to the implementation of a speaking subject in 5th, 6th and 7th
courses from Numa Pompilio Llona School, with the main goal to improve the lack of
knowledge in this English Language skill.
According to Brown (1994) ,”Speaking is an interactive process of constructing
meaning that involves producing and receiving and processing information”. Speaking
has an interaction in the construction of meaning that allows producing and conveys
information. This ability immerses students in the process or sending and receiving
information in an oral way.
Sometimes this lack of knowledge in this skill occurs due to many reasons like
social, political and economic changes who can contain or produce a negative influence
that make decrease the develop of quality in English learning progress specifically in
oral communication.
According to Morozova (2013) “It is crucial that we as teachers help students
build this vital set of 21st century skills. Everything depends on our ability to be
creative and to use modern teaching methods”. It is important to support learners to
construct their skills. Therefore each teacher has to be creative at the hour of organize a
syllabus for a specific ability.
The First reason is the social context mainly in parents that do not have enough
information about why their represented should learn a second language and what
methodologies or strategies are going to be used for improve each ability applied in a
foreign language for the students according to their level or age.
The second reason is the political context by inner authorities or the government
laws. Many times a public school might have a scarce of experimented staff for English
1
subject. Nevertheless can have a lack of motivation from coordinator or teachers
reflecting those needs in English class.
The Last Reason is economic factor that can affect educational process for a bad
management of incomes and environment conditions like the damage of some structures
of the institution.
However it’s necessary to highlight the pedagogy in the Spanish subjects who
reinforce the student’s previous information.
To Conclude In the institution there is only the English language as a subject .it
does not exist another subject related with English. Also the students present a low level
in English speaking ability. For this reason it could be a good benefit for teachers and
students to implement a subject related with communication.
