4.1 Specimen beam (your group may choose one of the following material : Aluminiun,
Brass or Steel)
4.2 Digital Dial Test Indicator
4.3 Hanger and Masses
PROCEDURE
Positioned the moveable knife-edge supports so that they are 400mm apart
Place the steel beam at the support
Place the hanger and the digital dial test indicator at the mid span. Zeroed the digital
reading
Apply an in incremental load record the deflection for each increment in the table
Repeat using span of 300mm and 500mm
RESULT
Experiment 1 : Span = 400 mm
