Poems

The poem describes a beautiful winter morning with imagery of snow, laughter, hot chocolate, and clouds drifting in the sky. It also references childhood innocence with sandwiches, milk, and snowball fights. The second poem is a child's promise to always do their best in school by coloring and writing neatly, doing homework, and trying hard on tests. The third poem celebrates individuality and how every person has their own unique name.

White

White is a cool breeze,

Wind on my cheek,

A whisper.

Sandwich at lunch,

Wholesome milk,

Soft Puffy marshmallows in hot chocolate.

My younger sister’s laughter,

Echoing down the hall.

Lacey angel wings,

Mounds of snow and ,

Snowball fight

Clouds drifting across the sky on this,

Beautiful Morning!
My Promise
Each day I’ll do my best,

And I won’t do any less.

My work will always pleas e me,

And I won’t accept a mess.

I’ll color very carefully,

My writing will be neat.

And I simply won’t be happy,

Until my papers are complete.

I’ll always do my homework,

And ill try on every test.

And I won’t forget my promise,\

To do my very best.

Everybody Has A Name

(Jean Warren)

Everybody has a name.

Some are different,

Some the same.

Some are short,

Some are long.

All are right.

None are wrong.

I like my name,

It’s special to me.

It’s exactly who,

I want to be!
