[email protected]ABOUT
A highly motivated Physics graduate, with exceptional commitment towards creating an extensive and
enhanced background in Physics for herself along with having an eminent exposure to this field
through internships, seminars and projects . An extreme physics enthusiast, more precisely in the field
of High Energy Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology and remarkably skilled to work within these
disciplines in a professional direction.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Internship at the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS), Ahmedabad University
June - July 2018
Summer internship at SEAS under the guidance of Dr. Gaurav Goswami (Assistant Professor) in Cosmology
and Quantum Field Theory. The work experience emphasizes on QFT and the study of Weinberg's Soft
Theorems for spin-1 and spin-2 particles.
Lab Intern at the Department of Nanotechnology, Saurashtra University
January - May 2017
Worked as an intern at the department for a duration of 5 months while studying the utility of nano Titanium
dioxide for it's efficient use in Perovskite solar cells. The work specifically included carrying out graph fittings,
researching and creating content for a paper, synthesis and few other laboratory technicalities.
Member of the Big Bang Astronomy Club (BBAC) at the Regional Community Science Centre Rajkot
Since 2014
Volunteered for, as well as participated in various skygazing workshops held for public. Actively participated in
seminars as well as summer and winter Messier Marathons (tracing of Messier objects in different regions of
night sky) held at state level by the club.
Teaching at the Sunday Science School (SSS)
2 Years
Teaching experience at the SSS, an initiative by the community centre, which trains junior school students to
try hands on experiemental science. Also been a personal science tutor to 8th and 10th grade students.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate Education - Christ College, Saurashtra University Rajkot
Bachelor of Science (Physics), April 2015- March 2018
Electricity, magnetism and solid state electronics, Optics and Spectroscopy, Mathematical Physics, Classical
and Quantum mechanics, Nuclear and Space Physics, Plasma Physics, Statistical Mechanics.
Higher Secondary Education - Shakti Higher Secondary School
April 2013- April 2015
BACHELOR THESIS/ PROJECT
Detection of Cosmic Particles using a Cloud Chamber
Construction of a cloud chamber to detect and study elementary particles by creating supersaturated conditions
inside the glass chamber. The trajectories of the particles formed due to ionisation become visible, leading to a
straightforward study of their properties.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Selected as one of the 35 students out of more than 300 applicants from the entire state, for the 3-week long
certified Advanced B.Sc Physics Programme held for 2nd year undergraduates from all over Gujarat, which was
jointly sponsored by elite institutes like PRL, IPR and Gujarat Science Academy.
Qualified the Minaxi Lalit Science Award Physics exam held by the Government of Gujarat.
One of the few volunteers representing for the public workshop held in the city for Mercury transit held on
May 9, 2016
Secured first rank in the Department of Physics of Christ College, in the final semester academics of the
undergraduate degree, with aggregate 93%. (SGPA-9.5) .
