Oracle Software Deployment Checklist

New Linux Server

Oracle Database – using ASM

 Add server to Oracle_Deploy_Linux Bladelogic group (should be done by Linux)


o Remedy Incident for Applications/Bladelogic
 Reset ormerck password (default ‘merck123’) (Oracle_Deploy_Linux)
o Bladelogic - chgPasswd[ormerck]
 Install Oracle Grid (ASM) software (Oracle_Deploy_Linux)
o Bladelogic - Oracle 12.1.0.2.Oct16 GRID (ormerck) - 64 bit
 Configure ASM instance (Oracle_Deploy_Linux)
o Bladelogic - Oracle Create ASM 12c (ormerck)
 Supply host region (for ldap.ora) AMER|EMEA|APAC
 Install Oracle database software (Oracle_Deploy_Linux)
o Bladelogic Oracle 12.1.0.2.Apr16 Server (ormerck) - 64 bit
 Supply host region (for ldap.ora) AMER|EMEA|APAC
o Bladelogic - Oracle 12.1.0.2.x Oct 16 PSU (ormerck)
 Install DDBoost (backup) Plugin (Oracle_Deploy_Linux)
o Bladelogic – Install DDBoost v1.3 Linux
 Install OEM agent (Includes password reset) (Oracle_Deploy_Linux)
o Bladelogic – Install_12cR4_Agent_Production
o Bladelogic – Install_12cR4_Agent_Non_Production
o Bladelogic – Install_12cR4_Agent_HA_Production
o Bladelogic – Install_12cR4_Agent_HA_Non_Production
 Request on-boarding of DBA owned privileged OS accounts to PAM using below
o WI – How to on-board DBA owned OS accounts to PAM

Oracle Database – using File Systems (without ASM)

 Add server to Oracle_Deploy_Linux Bladelogic group (should be done by Linux)


o Remedy Incident for Applications/Bladelogic

 Request on-boarding of DBA owned privileged OS accounts to PAM using below. If CFDBA
account does not exist as a LOCAL account (entry exists in /etc/passwd for LOCAL accounts) on
the server, put in a request to Linux Operations (for Linux servers) or A&A (for UNIX servers) to
create CFDBA Locally authenticated account.
o WI – How to on-board DBA owned OS accounts to PAM

Client Only

 Add server to Oracle_Deploy_Linux Bladelogic group (should be done by Linux)

o Remedy Incident for Applications/Bladelogic
 Reset ormerck password
o passwd (What is UNIX setting as default password? Used to be “oracle###”)
 Reset oraepm password
o passwd (What is UNIX setting as default password? Used to be “oracle###”)
 Install Oracle database software (Oracle_Deploy_UNIX)
o Bladelogic - Oracle 12.1.0.2.Apr16 Server (ormerck) - 64 bit
 Supply host region (for ldap.ora) AMER|EMEA|APAC
o Bladelogic - Oracle 12.1.0.2.x Oct 16 PSU (ormerck)
