c) Alternator : Meccalte ECO 38-2L/4

(II) Assumption:

a) Density of diesel fuel = 0.84 kg/litres


or 840 g/litres

b) Formula g/kwh
= density of fuel x kWm

(III) Data extract from the engine data sheet and calculated values

a) Engine output rating in kWm (calculated data)


100% load = 240.00 kWm

b) Engine fuel consumption rate (input data)


100% load = 191 g/kwh

(IV) Fuel consumption rate in litres/hour (calculated data)

Formula g/kwh
= density of fuel x kWm

100% load = 191


840 x 240.00

= 54.57 litres / hour

(IV) Total Fuel Consumption for 1 x 300kVA Generator set

a) Generator Sets operate under 100% full load condition

Fuel consumption for 1 x 300kVA generator set per hour is = 54.57 Litres

Therefore 500 litres skidbase fuel tank can last for 9.1 hours which is more than the
6 hours as required by SS535.
