3. INTRODUCTION

Class our topic for today is closely

related to our activity. Our lesson is
Recreational Activity.

And what do you mean by the word

Recreational Activity?

Yes, Jenny.
Activities during past time.

Excellent…..

When we say the word Recreational

activity it is simply mean activities done
during leisure or free time.

And one of the examples of recreational

activity is the Patintero game.

Kindly read the definition of patintero.

Patintero is one of the famous games
played by the Filipinos, the name came
from a Spanish word “tinte” meaning “tint”
referring to the lines, but in Hiligaynon
(Ilonggo) and Sugbuhanon (Cebuano) it is
called “Tubiganay” for in a reason that
they are using water to mark the grid lines
in the soil or sand.
This game is popularly played during night time
under the light of the moon.
It is commonly played in a wide space, in a
street, basketball court using charcoal, chalk
and water to make the lines that is crucial to
holding this game.

Using the chalk placed on the palm of the

taggers to leave marks on the bodies of the
tagger runners and serve as a basis that the
tagging was valid.

Will you read the objective of the game miss

Amor. The objective of a team is to accumulate as
many points by passing the lines without
being tagged. A defensive team is called
line guard while an offensive team is called
the passer.

Now a day due to its popularity, equipment,

rules and regulation was set, including the
chalk, scoreboard, whistle, stop watch and
powder.

Miss ____ kindly read the rules of the game. Rules of the Game
1. The game is started with toss of a coin.
Whoever wins becomes the passer.
2. A time limit of three minutes is given to
each team to score.
3. Once the limit elapses, the line guards
assume the positions of the passer, and
vice-versa.
4. Passers are suppose to cross the lines
from the starting point and back.
5. Four line guards are positioned on the
vertical line and one on the horizontal line
of the court. Their feet always be on the
line.
6. Line guards tag the passer with powered
hands.
7. If any of the passer is tagged, the line
guard immediately assumes the position of
passer even if the 2-minute limit has not
elapsed.
(Groupings – count of) (Start the game)
(Play the game)

IV. EVALUATION

game!!!

What did you learn in playing the

(Student answer)
game?

speed, teamwork or cooperation, concentration
in playing the game.
