VOCAL SOLO (ELEMENTARY)
1. The contest is open to all pupils from Grade 1-6.
2. Song must be OPM (Filipino Lyrics) of your choice. Copy of accompaniment and contest piece
lyrics (3 copies) must be provided to the technical committee before the start of the contest.
3. Accompaniment should be in minus - one only.
4. Costumes are allowed but no props.
5. CD’s must be submitted to the facilitators properly labelled before the contest starts.
6. Winners from a National Contests are no longer qualified to join.

Hip Hop Dance Contest
1. Group should have a minimum of seven (7) members to a maximum of twenty (20) members.
Members of the group may be composed of all males or females or a combination of both. (Junior
and Senior High School)
2. The contest piece must be at least three (3) minutes but not more than five (5) minutes
including entrance and exit. Groups are permitted to mix and use music of their choice. Profane
languages/ bad words should not be included in the music.
3. Routine must be performed in it’s entirely to the music selected.
4. Groups should include in their performance a broad selection of street dance styles without
excessive use of the same move or pattern. Indecent act is not allowed.
5. A varied range of styles should be shown in the choreography of arm, leg and body movement.
6. Appropriate attire should be observed in the competition. It may include accessories such as
hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelries, etc.
7. Removing pieces of clothing during the performance is allowed provided it is not offensive or out
of character.
8. Movements that are categorized under break dance are permitted, but should not
control/dominate the performance.
9. Any move where the competitors’ weight is solely on the neck/head i.e. head spins, headstands,
etc. is not allowed
10. Routine must consist primarily of hip – hop technique. May include street dance, freestyle, funk,
pop – n- lock, break dancing. NO ACROBATIC TRICKS ALLOWED. Subject for
disqualification.

Guidelines and Mechanics in Grace Dance (Secondary)
1. The dance should be Pantomina de Albay.
2. Each group should have a minimum of eight (8) members and a maximum of sixteen (16)
members.
3. Each group should provide their own music and submit to the committee before the start of the
contest.
4. Performance must not be more than five (5) minutes including entrance (32 measures) and
exit(32 measures).
5. Prescribed costume for the dance must be strictly followed.

BALLROOM DANCE COMPETITION
I. (HIGH SCHOOL) CONTEST MECHANICS:
1. The contest is open to all students from Grades 7-12.
2. One entry for every contest per school composed of 3 pairs only. Participants will be
coming from Junior or Senior high school students or mix.
3. The group participants should wear appropriate and decent ballroom attire of their
own choices. Daring costume is not permitted.
4. Each group will perform a ballroom dance following the sequence: Cha-Cha-
Cha(1min 30sec), Rumba(1min 30sec), and Jive(1min 30sec) with a time range
from 5-6 minutes including entrance and exit. Beyond this limit, corresponding
points will be deducted from the group’s total score.
5. The contest piece shall be a remix music following the prescribed dances.
6. No lifting allowed.
7. The performance of the group will be judged according to the following criteria by a
panel of credible judges:

MODERN CONTEMPORARY DANCE CONTEST
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. The competition is open to all Bonafide Junior High School and Senior High
School students. One entry per school, it can be a combination of JHS &
SHS students or purely JHS, SHS representing their school.
2. Dance should focus on any of the following concepts:
Environmental Awareness
Pride of being a Filipino
3. Each group shall be composed of a minimum of 6 dancers and a maximum
of 20 dancers.
4. Contest piece should be at least 4 minutes but not more than 5 minutes
including entrance exit. (1pt. deduction from the total score for the exceeded
time limit).
5. Contestants must provide their own music (remix is not allowed) recorded
on CD properly labelled. Have extra music in USB.
6. Lighting design/special lights are not allowed.
7. Dance piece should be an original choreography in contemporary form.
8. Soft ballet shoes or pointe shoes may be worn (optional).
9. Costume must be appropriate to the concept of the dance. Nudity is strictly
prohibited.
10.Obscene choreography, indecent movements & killing of animals are strictly
prohibited.
