COMPENSATORY OFF POLICY

PURPOSE
To establish a policy and procedure for providing Compensatory Off for working on a Sunday / notified
Holiday. Sunday and notified Holidays are non-working days for all employees. However, they may be
required to work on notified Holiday / Sunday in order to attend / conduct an official or a business
related meeting / work.

OBJECTIVE
The objective of this policy is to provide a day off for necessary rest and relaxation after a
continuous working of seven or more days continuously. This policy defines the situations when an
employee is entitled / not entitled to Compensatory Off for working on Sunday or a notified Holiday.

SCOPE
This policy covers all staff members of all Business Units of SIEC Education Pvt Ltd.

ENTITLEMENT & POLICY


All confirmed employees are entitled to Compensatory Off under the following situations:
 When conducting / attending an official / business meeting for more than 2 hours on a Sunday or a
 notified Holiday. 8 hours will make you eligible for 1 comp off. 
 Compensatory Off must be availed within 3months from the day. In case an employee cannot avail
Compensatory Off in next 3 months because of exigencies of business or any other meeting it
shall lapse. 
An employee will not be entitled to Compensatory off if,
 Attending a scheduled event, meeting or training program. 

PROCEDURE
 Employee must inform his / her reporting manager in conjunction with the HRD at least a
 week before he / she avails the Compensatory Off. 
 For intimations; Comp off form is to be used. 
 The approval should be sent to the Finance Manager who would maintain the records. 

OTHER GUIDELINES
  No 2 team members from a single branch or unit take comp offs together. 
 Comp off cannot be notified on the phone or via sms, It should be notified via an email atleast 1
 week prior. 
  Comp offs cannot be clubbed with a sick or casual leaves. 
 If there is a dispute between 2 team members about the day of a comp off, the HR will intervene to
 decide and award it to the first person who applied formally. 
  Saturday cannot be awarded as a comp off to ANY TEAM member. 
 Request for a Compensatory Off will not be entertained on a day when a business meeting /
training program is scheduled. In case, a Compensatory Off falls on the date of a scheduled
 meeting / training program, the colleague would be requested to take it on another day. 
 The management / HRD can modify or change this policy at its discretion. 
