Powers 1
Presentation Outline
Audience: Dr. Kaninjing, Caregiver’s Support Group, Ms. Franchetta, as well as anyone from
Coliseum Medical Center or Georgia College who wishes to come to our presentation
Setting: My home in Savannah due to COVID19, but was intended for classroom at Georgia
College as well as classroom in Coliseum Medical Centers
Purpose: Our purpose was to expand Ms. Franchetta’s caregiver’s class by adding a guide for
caregivers to turn to for answers on what to expect, how to deal with stress, financial
responsibilities, and how to get the support needed.
Goals and Objectives:
Goal 1: Create a guide for caregivers to take away from the hospital in order to read on their own
and turn to throughout their caregiving experience.
Objective 1: Implementing through the guide different aspects of caregiving such as
financial responsibilities, dealing with stress, general information on caregiving, and how
to create a support group.
Objective 2: Using non-clinical terminology in order for non-medial professionals to
fully understand the actions of caregivers themselves.
Goal 2: Implementing Caregiver’s Guide into the support group while also giving to families in
need of caregiving direction in ICU/ CVICU.
Objective 1: Produce 100 copies of the guide to give to those who attended the support
groups while also using copies to pass to families in ICU/ CVICU.
Objective 2: Listen and communicate with the group and families on what they are going
through and what they need to feel comfortable.
Personal Goal 3: Acknowledging caregivers’ financial responsibilities and educating them to
understanding all options that are available to help.
Objective 1: Vocalizing concerns with financial responsibilities to allow for caregivers to
feel understood.
Objective 2: Presenting to families the resources, in their area, that are available to them.
