Basic Steps

1. CHANGING STEP OR PALIT-PALIT

a) With a little jump off the floor, land on both ct. 1


feet with R in front and the L in rear
b) Reverse the position of the feet ct. 2

2. CROSS CHANGE STEP

a) Step the R foot across L foot in front ct. 1


b) Step L foot close to R in rear ct. and
c) Step R foot in place in front ct. 2
(Simplified: Cross-step, close, step)

3. HOP POLKA

a) Hop on the L foot ct. and


b) Execute one plain polka forward R 1&2
(Simplified: Hop, step, close, step)
&1 & 2

4. SLIDE POLKA

a) Slide R foot in fourth in front ct. 1


b) Close L foot to R foot in rear ct. and
c) Slide L foot in fourth in front ct. 2
d) Close R foot to L in rear ct. and
e) Take one plain polka forward R ct. 1 & 2 &
(Simplified: Slide, close, slide, close, step, close, step, pause)

5. PASO ESPANOL

a) Waltz balance forward R cts. 1,2,3


b) Waltz balance backward L cts. 1,2,3
c) Step- brush-swing 2 Ms

6. MUDANSA STEP – 16 MS

a) Step R obliquely forward R and at the same time

b) Brush L heel obliquely forward R ct. 2
c) Step on the L heel obliquely forward R ct. 3
d) Step R close to L heel ct. 1
e) Brush L heel obliquely forward R ct. 2
f) Step on L heel obliquely forward R ct. 3
g) Step R close to L heel ct. 1
h) Brush L heel forward cts. 2, 3

a) Repeat (1-a-h) 3 more times starting with the L foot, 9 Ms.

a) Starting with the R foot, take two steps


forward (R,L) cts. 1,2
b) Hop on L foot and raise the R in front of knee
and swing the R foot to L ct. 1
c) Hop again on the L and swing the R foot obliquely
forward R ct. 2
d) Take a three step turn R in place with the R foot cts. 1 & 2
e) Repeat (b and c) hopping on the R and swinging
the L foot cts. 1, 2
f) Repeat (d) turning L in place with L foot cts. 1 & 2
g) Repeat (b & c) cts. 1,2
h) Take two steps backward R, L cts. 1,2
i) Close R to L ct. 1
j) Pause ct. 2

10. ESPUNTI

a) In first position, move the L heel sideward L without


Lifting the toes (pivoting or pushing on the ball of
the L foot) and point R foot sideward R ct. 1
b) Lift the toes of the L foot and move it sideward L
(pivoting or pushing on the heel of the L foot) at
the same time point the R foot to fourth position in front cts. 2, 3
