MEDICART
The Problem
To explain the real life problem that most of the people in the community is currently
experiencing, here are several scenarios.
Imagine being at your retirement age of 61, struggling to buy your prescribed
maintenance medicine and running out of people to ask help. You are on your last pill for this
morning yet you have to take the same medicine twice as per the doctor prescribed. How would
you be able to buy your medicine?
Imagine being a pregnant woman, your husband is currently at work and you found out
that your 3 year old son had a fever. You tried to look up for your stocked medicine but you
found out that you already ran out of paracetamols. You couldn’t leave a three year old alone and
you are a few months away from pregnancy. How would you be able to buy a medicine?
Imagine being a student who lives alone in an apartment. Your parents are miles away
from your place and you are burning with high fever. Your body aches all over and you don’t
have any stock of medicine. Not to mention that your apartment is far from any pharmacy and
clinics. How would you be able to buy a medicine?
The Solution
Half of the society is currently dependent on the door-to-door delivery system. Big
examples are applications for online shopping and food delivery like Shopee, Lazada, McDo
App, and many more. These applications were developed for the convenience of the users in the
cheapest and easiest possible way,
MediCart is an app that is proposed to be develop to help the people of the community,
especially PWDs (Person With Disability) to buy their needed medicines through their mobile
phones. This application will put up a variety of medicines for fever, flu, hypertension and many
more diseases. Medicines that needed prescription should be supported by an image before
purchase. Senior citizens should present an image of their senior citizen card to purchase with
20% discount. Just like any other applications, the user must log-in and verify their identity in
order to avoid bogus buyers and joy reservers.
The delivery team would be in motors or any mode of quick transportation in order to
deliver the item. Online banking and Cash on Delivery option would be available for payment
and the receiver must present a valid ID for identity confirmation once the item is to be
delivered.
The aim of MediCart application is for it to be easily accessible to the audience in the
most convenient possible way.
