MBA Dissertation Guidelines

Students of MBA IV Semester need to undergo a mandatory industry interaction/research


project/study project on any industry type for 8-10 weeks and submit their Dissertation project
report. The project will be guided by internal allocated members of faculty from Ansal University.
Students are required to follow the below mentioned guidelines in preparing the project:

Type of Project
The project may be from any of the following types:
 On the work assigned by the Industry if the student is already employed
 Comprehensive case study (covering single organization/multifunctional area problem,
formulation, analysis and recommendations).
 Inter-organizational study aimed at inter-organizational comparison/validation of
theory/survey of management practices.
 Field study (empirical study).
 Live Project
 Any other Study project if not employed on any chosen Industry/Company/Firm in
consultation with the internal guide

Format of the Report (Suggestive)


The format that the students should follow while submitting the project report as follows:
 Title Page(as given in the document)
 Supervisor/Guide certificate (as given in the document)
 Acknowledgment
 Index of contents with page numbers
Chapter Plan
Chapter 1. Introduction & Rationale for the Study
Chapter 2. Objectives, Scope & Limitations of the Study
Chapter 3. Profile of the Company
Chapter 4. Theoretical Perspective / Conceptual Framework
Chapter 5. Research Methodology ( If applicable)
 Research Design
 Data collection methods/sources
 Sampling plan, which should include sampling unit, sampling size and sampling methods, viz
questionnaire methods interview methods observation etc.
Chapter 6. Data Analysis and Interpretations (using various charts and graphs) (if applicable)
Chapter 7. Findings and Conclusions
Chapter 8. Expected Contribution from the study and Future Scope.
Appendix
Copies of questionnaire\ Copies of form(s) if any from the company
Bibliography & References
 Referencing should be in APA Style

Paper and Text Specifications


i. Project should be in Spiral Binding
ii. The total Number of pages of the entire project should be around 70-90
Font style – Times New Roman
Font Size for running matter – 12
Font size for Heading – 18
Font Size for Sub-heading – 16
Line Spacing – 1.5
iii. Students need to CONSTANTLY interact and report to their guides so as to ensure that their
presentations and reports are in sync with the university requirements.
iv. Separate sheets should be used in between the Chapters containing Title and Chapter
number.
v. Two copy of the report duly coordinated and signed by the guide should be submitted
