What is peculiar of a product???
• Tangible or intangible
• Serious intentional efforts are put in
• Products are outcomes of sustained,
continuous events of iterations in a item or a
service being offered
• Often is the face of those/company offering it.

What is DESIGN?
• Decide upon the look and functioning of (a
building, garment, or other object), by making a
detailed drawing of it.

• a plan or drawing produced to show the look and

function or workings of a building, garment, or
other object before it is made.

Aspects of design
• Interaction design: how users interact with your product, what different
contexts are, what buttons do, etc.

• Information architecture: a model or concept of various data elements

organized to solve task flows

• Visual design: the look and feel of the product (this is what most folks
think of when you say design!)

• Usability testing: closed-door or in-situ testing of design, prototype or

near-final software with target consumer base to understand reactions
and suggest modifications
